A beautiful book - sometimes disturbing and exceedingly sad, as it documents what happened to Native peoples at the hands of the settlers; treaties broken, massacres, etc. The author is a spellbinding storyteller and the illustrations - a series of earth-based mandalas, (I imagine these could be shield or drum paintings) are stunning/5(91).

A surprisingly fun and unique story makes Arrows a book that you will want to add to your February to-be-read list. This book has a really interesting storyline that will draw you in and keep you flipping pages all night long.

Also, the mixing of genres and a determined main character gives Arrows an added element of excitement in this debut novel/5. Okay, I have been reading this series for about a month and I just got the fourth book.
